Sales Director - Retail

Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Director to manage our Retail operations in Australia.  You will lead the Australian Retail sales team, an experienced group of associates with a history of delivering strong results. You will be responsible for the local execution and design of all aspects of sales including sales strategy, revenue generation, trading terms, contractual conditions and more.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team you will be working closely with each part of the business to ensure our success to date is amplified in future years. Reporting to our Australian General Manager locally and forging strong relationships globally you will be key to the next elevation of our business as we continue to grow, challenge, and adapt. You will be based in our North Sydney office.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for realising the Australian retail sales results
  • Lead, coach and develop the experienced and driven Retail Sales team nationally
  • Take a leading role in the development and execution of the annual strategy and budget planning
  • Execute regular pricing, promotional and trade margin negotiations
  • Define the account planning, prioritisation of initiatives and negotiation approach for local key accounts
  • Define and monitor trade spend per customer

For this role as our Sales Director - Retail, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of senior sales experience within FMCG
  • A proven track record in coaching a high-performing sales team
  • Experience in negotiating commercial terms with large corporates
  • Ambition, drive and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong influencing and analytical skills
  • Experience working in a globally matrixed organisation
  • Proven ability to anticipate needs and initiate action
  • A passion for all things coffee and tea
