Safety Health and Environment Specialist

Job Description

Due to a lateral change in the team, we are looking for a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Specialist to drive zero incident performance through the right implementation of compliance requirements and the Global Safety Health Environment – SHE Improvement program. The scope of this role is to support the SHE needs of the Australian manufacturing facility based in Kingsgrove while providing guidance and support to the local marketing and sales organisation with regards to Supply Chain and Technical Services.

In this role, you will:

  • Defines local safety policy and procedures based on legal regulations and corporate standards
  • Leads the implementation and maintenance of ISO45001 and ISO14001 Certification.
  • Ensures compliance with Chain of Responsibility requirements for the Supply Chain, the Manufacturing Unit and Technical Services
  • Coordinates, implements, and drives all Safety, Health and Environmental – SHE Management systems, programs and processes such as Behaviour Observation Safety – BOS based on an annual improvement Plan
  • Drives a culture of engagement and develops capabilities through training and coaching which delivers a safety-perfect culture
  • Plans/Budgets/Controls annual capital budget for Safety Health Environment – SHE activities to ensure flawless execution of the Safety and Environmental plan.

Qualifications

For this role as a Safety Health and Environment Specialist, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • University degree (Bachelor) or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Environment or Safety
  • Qualification in auditing on ISO 45001 and 14001 standards and Lean programs will be highly regarded
  • You have working experience in a food (or other) manufacturing environment
  • You are able to work autonomously, with the ability to uphold and drive a safety-first working culture
